FDE · Forward Deployed Engineer

Role

FDE is MeetCarbon’s core delivery role: classic on-site system delivery, plus putting large models inside the customer’s stack — inference, model routing, permission-aligned Q&A, business Agent orchestration, and a handoff the customer can operate. You are not HQ-only R&D, nor a click-the-config implementer. You are a solution engineer who can code and a delivery owner who can carry the field. You work in government offices, parks and campuses — government networks, unified identity, data that cannot leave the domain — until the system is daily work and Atan is a partner people actually use. Success is a smoother site, a stabler acceptance, and AI that helps real work. Base in Wuhan; on-site during projects.

Responsibilities

• Clarify business and AI tasks on site; propose implementation and model-deploy shape; keep contract boundaries
• Own environment readiness: SaaS/private, org permissions, and inference/gateway/routing reachable inside the customer boundary
• Configure and integrate; wire Q&A, retrieval and tool calls to real permissions and data definitions
• Help build and embed business Agents (Atan skills) into the workbench — not a bolted-on chat window
• Run training and acceptance so the front line uses the system and AI instead of phone, WeChat and unused demos
• Hand over an AI ops pack: knowledge updates, skill switches, audit and on-call notes the customer can run
• First-line defects and UX in warranty; close with product; feed common capability back to the platform and Atan
• Change records and ops handoff so the customer knows who to call and how to upgrade

Requirements

• Bachelor or above in CS, software, automation, energy IT or related; exceptional candidates may waive years
• 2+ years in B2B / government delivery, implementation, ops, full-stack, or LLM/Agent engineering
• Hands-on depth in at least one stack (Go / Java / TypeScript / React)
• Comfortable with Linux, Nginx and basic troubleshooting; private / intranet / government-network deploy is a plus
• LLM calls, RAG/knowledge bases or Agent tool orchestration preferred; you can debug and degrade on site
• You hear business language and data-permission boundaries — not just “add a button / wire a model”
• Willing to reside on site; accept integration, training, acceptance and capability handoff cadence
• Meeting notes, scope change and information-security awareness
