From spreadsheet relay to one methodology through the org
Methodology · collect · account · disclose, closed into one chain.
Before
Group—plant—line rolled up by hand-stitched sheets
After
Inventory-unit tree hangs templates; subtrees roll up and drill automatically
Before
Each task writes its own sources; methodologies never match
After
Source library + industry/dedicated templates, reused across years
Before
Meters, ERP and Excel each run alone; data is re-entered
After
Multi-source, equal-weight ingest; standard datasets gate the checks
Before
The report is out before numbers freeze and materials are incomplete
After
Pre-check → review → lock → Word / verification pack ready
Four roles, one methodology
Methodology ops
Maintain sources and enterprise-dedicated models
Filing / data desk
Auto first; hands only on exceptions
Leadership / review
See the total; lock before it leaves

Methodology back office1/5
Source library → templates → unit assignment
One list per format. Many subsidiaries and years reuse the same methodology — methodology is no longer “a table built inside the task”.
- Default library + enterprise-dedicated sources: methodology notes, accounting formulas, recommended factors are maintainable
- Industry / subsidiary / dedicated templates assembled from the source library; Scope 3 can be personalized
- Templates assigned onto the inventory-unit tree; out-of-box for public institutions, parks, buildings, manufacturing
Five steps, from blank to disclosable
Boundary
Control / equity-share and other methods are configurable
Sources
Dedicated sources can settle back into the enterprise library
Activity data
Provenance records batch and original values
Factor accounting
Scope 2 supports location-based and market-based
Results and report
Writes forbidden after lock; outside is read-only
Multi-source in, gated checks
The system fills; people only review exceptions
Energy
Electricity, heat, fuel use and time-window fields
Materials
Raw/auxiliary consumption linked to specs
Transport
Distance, payload, fuel or transport mode
Production
Output, hours, line IDs and other process quantities
Hazardous waste
Waste code, name, treated volume and destination
Class 1 to class 4 — tree depth follows control
- Fits key emitters and group control
- Line-level drill locates exceptions
Group to line — finest-grain control and disclosure.
Pre-check · lock · report
01
Pre-check accounting
- error blocks / warning can be forced
- Gas-wise × GWP → tCO₂e
- Scope 2 location / market dual values
02
Review lock
- Return comments leave a trail
- Lock is a version gate
- External APIs read locked results only
03
Report and optional attestation
- Chapters from boundary to data-quality statement
- Verification pack for third party / internal audit
- No BSN key → pending config, no fake TxID

Is carbon inventory the same as product carbon footprint?
They are separate. This product is organization-level GHG inventory (organizational carbon). Product carbon footprint (PCF) is a distinct product capability.
Can numbers still change after a task is locked?
After lock, activity-data and accounting writes close, so external disclosure has a version gate. True corrections follow the review unlock path or a new-period task.
Is blockchain required?
No. BSN attestation is a contract-optional capability: tenant switch. Unconfigured keys stay pending config; no fake transaction IDs are written. Chain failure does not block the main flow.
Where does activity data come from?
Manual, Excel, meters/IoT, standard Open API, data middle platform and more, gated by standard datasets into the activity-data hub, with batch and source provenance.
How does the factor library relate to inventory?
The unified carbon-factor library governs master data (search, source, version, review). Inventory selects, gates enterprise submissions, and keeps a task-level factor snapshot at accounting time so history is not scrambled by later factor edits.
Can you connect our existing ERP / energy systems?
Yes. Through data-ingest config and Open API, mapped to the five standard dataset fields. Failed checks return explicit feedback; successful writes can trigger activity-batch attestation (if enabled).
